Position summary
In anticipation of a recompete contract award, Tantus, a Sikich Subsidiary- is looking for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator.
What will you do in this role?
Administer Oracle Enterprise Edition databases in standalone and multitenant (container/pluggable) architecture across development, test, staging, and production environments in Microsoft Azure
Configure and maintain Oracle Data Guard for maximum availability and disaster recovery across all environments
Implement, configure, and maintain Oracle GoldenGate bidirectional replication between internal and external database environments
Perform Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) backup and recovery operations including point-in-time recovery and cross-platform restores
Install, patch, and maintain Oracle Enterprise Edition databases including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), auditing, and Oracle Connection Manager
Administer Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for performance monitoring, job scheduling, patch compliance, and target management
Install, configure, and maintain MySQL instances on Ubuntu Linux in Microsoft Azure including replication, encryption, and automated backup strategies
Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code including materialized views, stored procedures, complex queries, and ETL processes
Coordinate and maintain access to upstream federal enterprise systems on behalf of the agency including centrally managed data repositories
Support and maintain agency data mart operations including nightly data pulls from enterprise systems and ETL ingestion from external data sources
Perform database security administration including account management, privilege assignment, TDE, auditing, and compliance with FISMA and agency ISSO security mandates
Author and maintain database standard operating procedures (SOPs) covering installation, configuration, migration, patching, replication, backup and recovery, and Oracle Enterprise Manager and GoldenGate operations
Conduct capacity planning, sizing, and performance requirements analysis for database infrastructure in Azure
Support FISMA security assessment and authorization activities as they relate to database environments
Provide advisory support to developers and architects on database design, performance tuning, and integration with federal enterprise platforms
Conduct proactive vulnerability remediation through regular Oracle CPU patch application across all environments
What do you need to succeed in this role?
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Minimum 10 years of Oracle database administration experience; 20-plus years preferred
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required
Demonstrated expertise with Oracle Enterprise Edition on Windows, Linux, and Unix platforms including Oracle 19c
Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL including performance tuning, query optimization, explain plan and autotrace analysis, index strategies, and partitioning
Hands-on experience with Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle GoldenGate replication, Oracle Connection Manager, and Oracle Enterprise Manager
Experience with Oracle multitenant architecture including container databases and pluggable databases
Experience administering Oracle databases in Microsoft Azure IaaS environments including VM provisioning and Azure-specific sizing and availability configurations
Experience with MySQL administration on Ubuntu Linux including replication, encryption, and backup strategies
Experience with Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and auditing
Experience with ETL processes and data integration from external data sources and centrally managed federal enterprise databases
Proficiency with scripting languages including SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, Perl, and Python for automation and operational tasks
Familiarity with FISMA security assessment and authorization activities and federal agency ISSO requirements
Preferred Certifications & Qualifications
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification for Oracle 19c
Experience supporting federal agency database environments with complex integration requirements across multiple enterprise platforms
Experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication in environments requiring bidirectional data synchronization between internal and externally accessible database tiers
Experience with Oracle multitenant architecture including conversion from single-tenant configurations
Experience with Oracle Connection Manager for database connectivity across network security boundaries
Experience with PostgreSQL database administration
Familiarity with Oracle licensing requirements in cloud environments and Azure shape sizing for Oracle workloads
Familiarity with HHS EPLC framework and federal IT governance processes
Experience with Splunk or equivalent log monitoring tools for database security event analysis
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
