Ongoing, full-time role with the Regional Coordination Northern Team.

Role based in Port Macquarie with flexible work options and hybrid arrangements available.

Clerk Grade 11/12, salary relative to experience, and ranges from $154,231 - $178,369 + super & leave loading.

About the role

As a Manager Regional Coordination, you will lead teams delivering disaster preparedness and recovery support to communities across the region. You’ll play a key role in guiding how we work with communities before, during and after disasters, making sure people can access the right support at the right time. You will work closely with councils, emergency services, community organisations and other partners to strengthen local capability and deliver practical, community centred approaches to mitigation, preparedness and recovery. You will also help connect local priorities with broader government strategies, supporting more resilient and sustainable communities over the long term.

In this role, you will:

Provide senior leadership across the region during disasters and emergencies, supporting coordinated preparedness, response and recovery before, during and after events.

Represent the Authority at regional forums and committees, building strong relationships and influencing outcomes with senior stakeholders across government, councils, emergency services and community organisations.

Lead the coordination of information, resources and multi-agency effort during complex events, ensuring an integrated approach to regional response and recovery.

Oversee and lead community recovery, including rebuilding and relocation activities, ensuring programs are responsive to regional needs and priorities.

Support the delivery of grant and funding programs that strengthen essential services and drive long term recovery outcomes for disaster affected communities.

Work closely with senior stakeholders across sectors to shape and deliver effective regional preparedness and recovery strategies aligned with legislative and strategic frameworks.

Provide clear, timely advice, briefings and reporting to support decision making at senior levels within the Authority, across government & ministerial portfolios.

About You

You are an experienced and capable leader in disaster management and community engagement, with the ability to lead through complexity, bring stakeholders together and build trusted relationships that support strong outcomes for communities.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

Extensive senior leadership experience in emergency management, with a proven track record leading preparedness, response and recovery across large scale, complex disasters.

Demonstrated ability to lead multi-agency coordination at a senior level, bringing together government, emergency services and community partners to deliver integrated, high impact outcomes.

Strong capability to influence and work with senior stakeholders, including Ministers, executives and partner agencies, to drive strategic alignment and decision making.

Highly developed operational leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to perform effectively in high pressure, dynamic environments.

Deep understanding of NSW emergency management arrangements, including leadership of recovery and cross border coordination.

Proven commitment to community centred emergency management, with experience working alongside regional communities to deliver locally informed outcomes.

Highly developed communication skills, including providing strategic advice and representing organisations in senior forums.

An ability and willingness to travel within NSW to perform and support operational requirements during disasters, emergencies and other events, consistent with skills, background and personal circumstances.

Current unrestricted NSW drivers’ licence.

Essential requirements:

Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

This role is critical to ensuring consistent, locally informed delivery of disaster recovery and resilience initiatives across regional NSW.
