About the Role

As the Regional Engineering Manager, you will lead the growth of John Holland's Engineering Management capability across the region, supporting both tender opportunities and project delivery. Working across our Infrastructure, Rail and Building businesses, you will provide strategic engineering leadership, oversee the development of competitive and client-focused solutions, and build strong relationships with clients, government authorities and key partners.

Responsibilities of the role

Lead and grow Engineering Management capability across the region, supporting both tender development and project delivery.

Provide engineering leadership across Infrastructure, Rail and Building business units.

Oversee Engineering Management inputs to tenders and projects, ensuring competitive, client-focused and deliverable solutions.

Establish and manage relationships with regional clients, government authorities, partners and key stakeholders.

Identify and engage local consultants, technical partners and supply chain networks to support successful project delivery.

Implement regional engineering systems, processes and frameworks aligned with John Holland standards and local requirements.

Ensure compliance with regulatory, design, safety and Safety in Design requirements across all project activities.

Drive integration between design, construction and operational outcomes, delivering practical, sustainable and whole-of-life solutions.

Provide commercial and contractual leadership, managing risk and supporting successful project outcomes in the regional market.

Develop local engineering capability and workforce succession through mentoring, industry engagement and talent development.

Foster collaboration, innovation and knowledge sharing across regional and national engineering teams.

What we are looking for

We're seeking a degree-qualified engineer, ideally with Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or equivalent, and a proven track record in engineering and technical leadership. You will bring extensive experience in the delivery of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects across design, engineering and construction environments, along with strong expertise in leading technical teams through both tender and project phases.

The successful candidate will demonstrate sound commercial, financial and program management skills, including experience managing budgets, driving efficiencies and reducing costs. Strong stakeholder management capabilities are essential, with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence outcomes and effectively engage with clients, consultants and design partners. Experience in identifying and managing design risks, combined with a demonstrated ability to lead will be critical to success in this role.
