Project Officer, First Peoples, Lived Experience, Prevention, Policy & Inclusion/ Suicide Prevention and Gambling Harm Response

About the role:

The Project Officer supports the delivery of projects and team priorities related to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of suicide prevention and response programs and initiatives, The role contributes to project planning, documentation, reporting and coordination activities, helping ensure projects progress on time and to required standards. It contributes to tasks such as preparing briefs and correspondence, tracking milestones, organising meetings and maintaining accurate project records.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated project, communication and stakeholder skills, and will work well within a team to achieve team goals. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of diverse branch and play a key role in addressing some of the most important issues facing our community.

Important note: the Suicide Prevention and Response Office deals with detailed information and content relating to suicide, which can be distressing. About you:

Resolves operational service delivery problems and issues consistent with program objectives

Defines the appropriate methodology in the analysis of policy or research options

Prepares reports, briefs and correspondence on complex issues that impact at program or organisational level

Researches and applies advanced theoretical knowledge in a specialised field to operational problem solving

Manages projects, usually under limited direction

Qualification/Specialist Expertise

A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. business, project management, public health) would be desirable but is not required.

Knowledge and experience in government would be desirable.
