Project Manager
About the role
Are you ready to manage projects end-to-end in a global industrial environment, from order intake to final commissioning at customer site?
We are seeking a Project Manager - Tissue Converting to join our CAP TC team in Lucca. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects while ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget, in line with the Valmet Project Execution Model.
The position requires strong coordination skills, technical understanding of industrial machinery, and the ability to effectively manage stakeholders across engineering, production, customers, and international teams.
Primary Location: Lucca, Italy
We offer a salary ranging from €40,000 to €45,000 per year.
The selected candidate will be hired under the National Collective Agreement (CCNL) applied by Valmet Italy for Employees of the Metalworking Industry and Plant Installation Sector (Addetti all’Industria Metalmeccanica e dell’Installazione di Impianti).
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution & Coordination
Coordinate project activities, resources, and tasks from Order Intake to End Commissioning
Follow the Valmet Project Execution Model
Ensure project targets in terms of scope, quality, safety, delivery time, and profitability
Drive and monitor project milestones and overall progress
Manage project changes after kick-off
Organize and lead project design reviews
Risk & Issue Management
Identify project risks and define mitigation strategies
Manage issues and escalate when necessary
Coordinate stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of open points
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Act as interface between customer, project team, and internal stakeholders
Maintain strong relationships with Sales and project partners
Organize and manage customer FAT at manufacturing plant
Provide regular updates to customers on project progress
Manage customer punch list and ensure closure
Team Coordination & Site Activities
Coordinate internal project team ensuring clear responsibilities and accountability
Support collaboration across engineering, production, and other departments
Act as Project Site Coordinator, including safety and technicians coordination
Ensure alignment and effective communication across all project stakeholders
Tools, Processes & Continuous Improvement
Use Valmet tools and follow internal procedures
Support improvement of ways of working and project coordination processes
Ensure proper documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle
Required Qualifications
Degree in Business or equivalent
2–5 years of experience in project management
Experience in industrial environments (paper/tissue industry is a plus)
Business fluent English (minimum B2)
Availability to travel (60–100 days per year)
Preferred qualifications :
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
MS Project knowledge
Agile/Scrum certifications
