Shift Manager

Here at GXO, we’re looking for an ambitious and motivated Shift Manager to join our multi-user site in West Hallam. You’ll support the Operations Manager in leading a busy warehouse operation. You’ll be responsible for coordinating people, resourced, and processes to ensure operational KPIs are consistently achieved while creating a safe, engaged, and high-performing team culture.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Typically you will work Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:30, however during peak periods, you will move on to rotating shift, so flexibility is required!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

Lead, coach and develop Team Leader and Warehouse Colleagues, creating a motivated and high-performing workforce

Drive operational performance, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs and customer service targets are consistently achieved

Manage warehouse resources effectively, including workforce planning, shift cover, workload allocation, and productivity monitoring

Champion Health & Safety compliance, ensuring all colleagued follow safe systems of work and operational procedures

What you need to succeed at GXO:

Experience leading teams within a warehouse, logistics, distribution, or operational environment

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, engage, and develop colleagues at all levels

Experience managing employee relations, performance, absence, and workforce planning within a fast-paced operation

Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and operational compliance requirements
