About the Team
Fanatics TCG is a new trading card game business in Seattle, WA, the newest member of the Fanatics Collectibles family. We are here to build the best TCG studio and games in the world.

Role Summary
The Senior Game Designer is a hands-on contributor responsible for designing cards, mechanics, and gameplay experiences that support the overall vision of Fanatics Collectibles' trading card game while ensuring clarity, balance, and player engagement.
Responsibilities
Design cards, mechanics, and expansion themes
Participate in playtesting, tuning, and balance iteration
Collaborate with art, narrative, and production partners
Contribute to design documentation and best practices
Support post-launch updates and ongoing gameplay improvements
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of professional game or TCG design experience
Shipped experience on at least one card or competitive game
Strong understanding of balance, probability, and player psychology
Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams
Skills & Abilities
Strong creative instincts paired with attention to detail
Ability to iterate quickly based on feedback and data
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Passion for trading card games and player-focused design
Location & Compensation
Achieving our goals requires strong collaboration and partnership between our teams and internal stakeholders. To best support this, the person who accepts this role is expected to be onsite, in our Seattle office five days per week. When determining a final compensation package, we consider factors including location, experience, qualifications, and training.

Compensation
This Game Designer role pays $110k-$140k/yr. Within typical range for game designer roles in United States.
