The Opportunity

Reporting to the State Sales Manager this role sits at the centre of engineering, design and commercial delivery.

As a Packaging Engineer, you’ll take ownership of developing and optimising corrugated packaging solutions, working closely with customers, sales and manufacturing teams to deliver smarter, more efficient outcomes.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll lead trials, influence design decisions and drive continuous improvement across both customer and plant environments.

What You Will Do

Design and deliver fit-for-purpose packaging solutions

Lead product trials across plant and customer sites

Optimise board grades, carton design and specifications

Partner with customers to improve packaging performance and cost

Support tenders with practical, commercially viable solutions

Collaborate with Sales, Design and Operations to deliver outcomes

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput and margin

Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives

Provide technical guidance on packaging machinery and performance

Ensure compliance with safety, quality and operational standards

What You Will Bring

Experience in packaging, manufacturing or product development (corrugated highly regarded)

Strong understanding of packaging design, materials and production processes

Ability to balance technical requirements with commercial outcomes

Experience working directly with customers in a solutions-focused role

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Confident stakeholder engagement across operations and sales

Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and innovation
