We are seeking an experienced and passionate Community Engagement Manager to play a pivotal role in building strong, respectful, and mutually beneficial relationships between Sodexo, our client, and the communities surrounding our remote operations.

This role is central to fostering community partnerships, supporting local employment and enterprise opportunities, and ensuring our operations create lasting social value. You will be a visible and trusted presence both on-site and within local communities—driving engagement initiatives, supporting events, and strengthening meaningful connections.

This position involves weekly travel to remote sites, with flexibility required to extend time onsite to support mobilisation and operational priorities.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong relationships with site teams, Elders, Traditional Owners, and local communities

Act as a key liaison between Sodexo, clients, and stakeholders

Ensure culturally respectful and inclusive engagement

Maintain accurate records for reporting and compliance

Support operational teams in delivering contractual outcomes

Partnership Development

Identify opportunities with local and Indigenous-owned businesses

Support business growth and sustainability

Position Sodexo as a trusted regional partner

Employment & Recruitment

Promote local employment opportunities

Partner with recruitment teams on local hiring strategies

Support pathways into employment for community members

Indigenous Engagement

Work with Indigenous Affairs teams, Elders, and organisations

Support Indigenous participation across employment and suppliers

Assist with culturally significant initiatives and events

Events & Community Activation

Deliver community and Village events (e.g. NAIDOC Week, cultural celebrations)

Encourage participation from residents and communities

Opportunity & Project Development

Identify local project and service opportunities

Collaborate internally to deliver shared outcomes

Prioritise local employment where possible

Governance & Reporting

Meet and document contractual engagement requirements

Track and report on outcomes and social value

Ensure compliance with policies and client commitments

Proven experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, or a similar role

Strong understanding of working with Indigenous communities and cultural protocols

Excellent relationship-building and communication skills

High attention to detail with strong reporting and documentation capability

The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities

Flexibility to travel regularly and adapt to changing operational needs
