About the role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to initiate and subsequently lead operations at our manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production, workforce management, quality performance, and operational efficiency. The operation focuses on sewing and light assembly processes supporting our global product lines.
This position requires a strong operational leader who is comfortable working on the production floor, developing teams, improving processes, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Production Management
Lead daily manufacturing operations to meet production schedules, quality targets, and delivery commitments.
Manage warehousing, sewing and light assembly production processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, consistency, and product quality.
Monitor production metrics and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
Ensure equipment, tools, and workstations are maintained and operating effectively.
2. Team Leadership & Workforce Development
Lead, coach, and develop a team of supervisors, operators, and support staff.
Lead training program on all work instructions and procedures.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Promote strong communication and engagement across the workforce.
3. Quality & Continuous Improvement
Ensure products meet internal specifications and customer quality expectations.
Partner with quality teams to address nonconformances, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity, quality, and process efficiency.
Maintain adherence to established manufacturing procedures and standards.
4. Facility & Operational Oversight
Manage day-to-day facility operations including safety, preventative maintenance of equipment, and general plant organization.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment aligned with safety standards and best practices.
Support capital equipment planning, facility improvements, and operational investments as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in operations management, industrial engineering or related field.
Bilingual Spanish/English with strong leadership and team development skills.
Experience managing manufacturing operations, equipment or production teams involving sewing, textiles, or light assembly.
Experience with fabric cutters, sewing machines and other relevant equipment in a sewing and distribution environment.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Experience working with ERP systems; EPICOR preferred.
Valid visa to travel to the US for training.
Preferred
Background in consumer products, soft goods, or textile manufacturing.
Experience working within ISO certified organizations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per month
