Job Overview:
The Senior Project Manager - TECO will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and closing of complex utility infrastructure projects for TECO Energy. This role involves managing project teams, ensuring adherence to safety standards, budget control, schedule management, and client satisfaction for projects within the Primoris Services Corporation portfolio.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all phases of TECO projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, risk management strategies, and communication plans.
Oversee project budgets, track expenses, approve invoices, and implement cost control measures to ensure financial objectives are met.
Manage project schedules, monitor progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain timelines.
Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements on all project sites.
Serve as the primary point of contact for TECO clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and company standards.
Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams, including engineers, superintendents, and field personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Conduct regular project reviews, assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement lessons learned for future projects.
Prepare and present project status reports, financial forecasts, and progress updates to senior management and clients.
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to address potential challenges.
Ensure all project documentation, including change orders, daily reports, and closeout packages, is accurate and complete.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in project management within the utility construction industry, with a strong focus on electrical transmission, distribution, or substation projects.
Proven experience managing projects for TECO Energy or similar large utility companies is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of utility construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
PMP certification is a plus.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites as required.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a results-oriented approach.
