About the role
Summary: Sales Manager plays a key role in driving revenue growth by supporting and actively managing the sales pipeline while also generating new business opportunities. This role works closely with the Director of Growth to coordinate outreach, meetings, proposals, and deal progression, while also owning opportunities independently through pitching, closing, and relationship development.
This position blends sales coordination and execution of selected deals with direct selling responsibility, ensuring a high-functioning pipeline, strong client engagement, and consistent conversion of opportunities into signed business. The role requires both operational rigor and a client-facing, revenue-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
New Business Development & Relationship Building
Research and identify prospective clients, partners, and accounts aligned with EXP’s target markets
Execute outbound outreach via email, LinkedIn, referrals, and warm introductions
Represent EXP at industry & networking experiences to drive new business opportunities
Generate referral pathways within the industry and through existing client relationships
Build and maintain prospect lists and early-stage engagement pipelines
Support relationship development through thoughtful follow-up and connection-building
Re-engage dormant leads and past clients in partnership with sales leadership
Sales Pipeline Management & Deal Execution
Manage active opportunities across the sales pipeline to ensure momentum, follow-ups, and accuracy
Schedule sales discovery calls, meetings, and next steps; coordinate closely with the Director of Growth on sales strategy & proposal execution.
Lead and support discovery conversations, with increasing ownership of client-facing sales interactions
Manage discovery call documentation and deal information throughout the sales process
Track deal stages from initial inquiry through contract execution and handoff
Take ownership of select opportunities, including pitching, negotiation, and closing
Proposal & Sales Collateral Development
Support proposal development, revisions, and versioning (scopes, decks, case studies)
Coordinate internal inputs across creative, production, and leadership teams to build proposals
Manage SOW drafting, pricing alignment, and contracting processes
Ensure proposals are delivered on time, aligned with client needs, and positioned to win
Partner closely with the Director of Growth to refine strategy and positioning for key opportunities
Sales Operations & Department Reporting
Own CRM hygiene, data accuracy, and opportunity tracking
Prepare monthly sales and pipeline reports for leadership
Track performance metrics related to outreach, pipeline movement, and conversion
Assist with sales forecasting and pipeline prioritization
Support ongoing improvements to sales processes and workflows
Qualifications:
2 to 4 years of experience in business development, sales coordination, account coordination, marketing coordination, hospitality, events, agency, venue, catering, or B2B services
Track record for relationship development & lead generation
Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft thoughtful outreach, follow-ups, proposal language, and client-facing notes
Comfortable with outbound prospecting, LinkedIn research, CRM updates, lead tracking, and follow-through
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple prospects, deadlines, and internal handoffs
Experience supporting sales teams, account managers, executives, or client-facing project teams
Ability to quickly understand EXP’s work, including creative event strategy, production, logistics, budgets, client goals, and margin sensitivity
Comfortable using tools such as Google Workspace, HubSpot or another CRM, LinkedIn, Canva, Asana, and basic sales reporting
Professional, warm, confident, and relationship-driven, with the ability to interact with venues, clients, partners, and executive assistants
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in events, experiential marketing, hospitality, agency, corporate events, tech events, or venue sales
Experience researching target accounts and identifying decision-makers
Basic understanding of sales funnels, lead qualification, pipeline stages, and proposal processes
Ability to support light marketing efforts, including email campaigns, LinkedIn activity, case study organization, and sales collateral updates
Comfortable tracking basic sales data, including lead source, close rate, conversion rate, meeting volume, and pipeline value
Pay: $74,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
