AI Engineer III

The Enterprise Technology Services organization partners with every part of the American Express business to power the company’s growth and innovation with trust and efficiency, and drive competitive differentiation with speed. We support the delivery and operations of technology, digital, and data capabilities, platforms, and services globally. Specifically, our team is responsible for the company’s technology engineering, architecture, and infrastructure, providing 24x7 support to ensure an uninterrupted, high-quality experience for customers and colleagues. We also provide product management for core enterprise platforms, and lead technology risk and information security, enterprise data governance and platforms, digital product and design, and enterprise AI platforms on behalf of the company.

The AI/ML Engineer will contribute to the development and evolution of the DX Insights platform, which serves as a centralized solution for measuring and improving engineering productivity, AI adoption, and developer experience across the organization. DX Insights integrates data from multiple sources and provides actionable insights to leadership through dashboards, analytics, and reporting capabilities to drive better engineering outcomes and investment decisions.

Machine Learning and Data Analytics skills - Good knowledge of machine learning methods. Understanding of data analysis tools e.g. PowerBI and Tableau.

Demonstrated experience of developing and defending Machine Learning, AI, or statistical models

BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, data science or other technical subject area or equivalent 5+ years of work experience

Hands-on experience with SQL, including schema design, query optimization and performance tuning.

Experience with distributed computing frameworks like Hadoop, Hive, Spark for processing large scale data sets.

Proficiency in any of the programming language python, pyspark for building data pipeline and automation scripts.

Understanding of cloud computing and exposure to any cloud GCP,AWS or Azure. knowledge of CICD, GIT commands and deployment process.

Understanding of AI tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and optimize data processing workflows

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
