The Job You Will Perform:

The Containerboard Commercial Analyst position is an integral part of Containerboard Finance and directly supports the FP&A Manager. This position is a unique opportunity to work directly with the business in a fun and fast paced environment all while prepping the individual for future advancement within the team and Finance. The position is a critical business partner to the sales organization within Containerboard. Key customers include the Finance Director, GVP CB & Recycling, VP CB Commercial & Strategy, Director Export Sales and the CB Pricing Team. This role is responsible for providing the following services:

Business partner analytics for the sales organization

Prepare and analyze business-wide operating results and trends

Provide detailed sales (customer & product profitability) analysis

Cross train on manufacturing analysis

Division journal entry completion for unique non-recurring items

Internal and external reporting

Support quarterly FGO Balance Sheet Reviews & internal/external audits

Optimize new automation tools to drive efficiencies (VIP, PowerBI, etc.)

Ad hoc analysis

Key Accountabilities:

Developing relationships with business partners in order to provide customer focused value analytics for the sales organization to support business decisions

Learn to prepare and analyze business-wide operating results and trends for variance reporting and month/quarter end close

Developing skills to provide detailed sales (customer & product profitability) analysis as required by the sales organization

Cross train on manufacturing analysis in order to provide support as necessary

Maintain accurate books and records in addition to maintaining a strong internal control environment

Key Challenges:

Build relationships with key stakeholders (Sales, Finance, & Manufacturing)

Learn business acumen, key metrics (ROI, ROIC, etc.) and drivers

Implementing new automation tools to drive efficiency

Understanding pricing dynamics both domestically and abroad

Learn reporting and analytical systems (SAP, Excel, BPC etc.)

Gain familiarity with historical results in order to provide forward looking analysis

Gain familiarity of key business structural changes their impact

The Skills You Will Bring:

3-5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business

Track record of being a self-starter

Natural curiosity for learning and process optimization

Working knowledge of SAP/Business Warehouse & BPC

Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
