Job Summary:

The Operations Manager within our Winterbourne site is responsible for managing Production and Maintenance areas. Along with the rest of the Plant Leadership Team the Operations Manager is critical in supporting the PGM in the effective plant management, ensuring a drive for excellence approach. The role is vital to the sites safety culture, compliance with company/plant policies & procedures and focus on continuous improvement and innovation. The Operations Manager is vital in aligning the plants objectives and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering budget in terms of production volumes, costs, Capex

Defining and managing organisational processes and improvements (roles, responsibilities, number of headcounts, shifts, activities), according to company policies and budget

Ensure timely execution of the production plan by optimising capacity to meet demand

Defining and verifying the correct KPIs to control processes performance

Support the optimisation of working capital through the reduction of inventory

Deliver continuous improvement plans for all aspects of the site operations

Promoting Amcor Values within the plant

Heightening own team performances, knowledge, and leadership

Maintaining high level of collaboration, motivation, and engagement

Taking an active role in the plant’s safety programs and goals, spreading safety culture

Supports the coordination of company functions in the application of the HSE System

Implementation of safety and health measures in the workplace;

Support the development of safety procedures for the various company activities;

Support the training and informing workers about Safety issues and responsibilities

Supports activities related to ISO 14001 and ISO 13485

Strict adherence to the organization’s hygiene rules, understanding the importance of personal hygiene and wearing appropriate protective gear to avoid compromising product quality

Excellent knowledge of quality standards , data integrity, and the importance of maintaining product integrity.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Proven senior Operations Management experience, gained in a fast paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment

Experience in packaging is an advantage but not a pre-requisite for the role

Experience of successfully managing significant change / transformation projects within a manufacturing environment.

First-hand experience of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.

Degree in a Science, Technology or Engineering subject preferred.

Proactive, positive leadership and people skills to ensure alignment with safety culture throughout organization

Demonstrate employee engagement skills in an ongoing effort to create a positive & fulfilling work environment.

Assertive problem - solver able to identify gaps and define implementable solutions

Genuine passion to transform manufacturing capability

Open, outgoing and team-oriented interpersonal style with strong motivation and facilitation skills

Results-oriented: able to take actions and implement effective solutions in a timely manner

Skilled communicator who is customer orientated with drive and energy
