Quality Technician – Day/Late Shift

Location: Caswell, Northamptonshire

Department: Quality Assurance

Shift Pattern: Rotating Early/Late Shift (Monday–Friday)

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our Quality Assurance team at our advanced manufacturing facility in Caswell. Working within a high-tech semiconductor environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality of our Indium Phosphide wafer manufacturing processes, helping to deliver products that meet the highest industry standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with quality assurance experience in manufacturing who enjoys problem-solving, continuous improvement, and working in a collaborative technical environment.

What you'll be doing

As a Quality Technician, you'll support manufacturing quality activities across the site by:

Ensuring products meet quality standards and specification requirements

Supporting the Quality Engineer with day-to-day quality assurance activities

Performing routine process audits, ESD audits and verification activities

Coordinating and supporting corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

Conducting shop floor inspections and spot-check audits

Driving continuous quality improvement initiatives

Supporting customer and internal audits

Assisting with site calibration activities

Carrying out Goods In and Goods Out inspections

Supporting the internal audit programme

Monitoring change control effectiveness

Developing and updating QA work instructions and documentation.

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have:

A BTEC ONC/OND in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering (or similar), or 3–5 years' experience in a Quality Assurance role within manufacturing

Experience carrying out quality audits

Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

Competent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable experience

It would be advantageous if you also have:

Calibration experience

Experience working in a cleanroom environment

Knowledge of SAP, Agile, PROMIS or similar manufacturing systems.
