Job Description

The main purpose of the job is for the incumbent to provide effective administrative support to enable the CREST team to carry out its research programmes, learning activities such as workshops, and engagements with scientists, health professionals, members of the public and other stakeholders. CREST is a ethics capacity building programme that delivers cutting edge research to inform policy. A sliver of the administrative work will be department related. The position is for 2 years, with the possibility of renewal if performance is satisfactory (funded by infrastructure NMRC grant).

Effectively organise, coordinate and execute CREST grant management, including reports, database, and procurement & financial reporting tasks, ensuring adherence to established standards and timelines, to ensure smooth operation of the project

Effectively organise, coordinate and execute CREST learning activities (including workshops and other events etc), research admininstrative activities and stakeholder engagement activities

Work with the website administrator to ensure the site is up to date with CREST news and programme information, and regular updates are sent to the community

Support grant applications aligned with CREST themes.

Qualifications

A degree in any discipline, with at least 3 years working experience

Candidates with no experience, or those with less than 3 years working experience, who are analytical thinkers, fast learners, detailed-oriented, and focused may be considered.

Experience in budgeting and grant management principles preferred.

Project management experience a plus.

Highly adaptable, and thrives in a fast-moving and constantly evolving environment

A team player who collaborates well with others, and who responds to colleagues and stakeholders with the intention to provide an excellent service

A superb problem-solver with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

Able to switch between being detail-oriented and more macro thinking

Digital fluency with Microsoft 365 (Copilot, SharePoint, Power Automate, Teams; strong Excel) and willingness to learn and implement new software tools.

Excellent written and spoken English.
