The role

We are seeking a motivated Tax Accountant to join the Adbri Group and support the delivery of tax compliance and reporting obligations in a highly regulated, deadline-driven environment.

This is a great opportunity to build technical capability across both direct and indirect taxes, working closely with Senior Tax Accountants and gaining exposure to corporate income tax, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and tax reporting processes within a large corporate group.

Reporting to the Group Tax Manager, this role combines hands-on tax compliance work with opportunities to build technical capability and contribute to continuous improvement across processes, systems and data.

Responsibilities

Prepare income tax returns, business activity statements, FBT returns and supporting workpapers for review

Assist with tax effect accounting, tax reporting, and tax budgeting/forecasting processes

Prepare tax journals, balance sheet reconciliations for tax accounts and maintain the tax fixed asset register

Support the tax control framework, including SOX compliance and internal control testing

Liaise with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax outcomes

What you will need to succeed

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (CA/CPA in progress or completed preferred)

Experience in Australian tax compliance (income tax, GST and/or FBT), ideally within corporate or Big 4/mid-tier

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and reconcile financial and tax data

High attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across finance teams and stakeholders
