Description:
The Truck & Trailer Technician is responsible for servicing and maintaining company equipment by using standard "Best Practices" and providing guidance to apprentices. Responsibilities will encompass diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting repairs, and performing preventive maintanance tasks to keep our fleet in optimal condition. Additonally, will collaborate with the maintance team, adhere to safety standards, and contribute to minimizing downtime and maximizing the efficiency of our trucking services.
Responsibilities:
Perform Scheduled Preventative Maintaince Inspections and repairs.
Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting.
Work towards meeting industry standard repair times for assigned repairs.
Train on and stay current with new technologies.
Maintain work areas of shop to meet health and safety standards.
Communicate issue/concerns to managers as needed.
Will be required to work occasionally on weekends
What You’ll Bring
5–7 years of related experience in fleet or heavy-duty equipment maintenance
College diploma and/or trade apprenticeship certification
Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic with Journeyman/Red Seal certification or minimum 6 years experience.
Unlicensed techs must have worked 6 years out of the last 10 in applicable field
They must have accumulated a minumum of 10,800 hours in this period
They myst have acquired at least 70% of the schope of the trade
Off-Road and On-Road certification and CVIP experience an assett
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing operational needs
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications preferred
Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer service
