Job Description
We are looking for a HR Business Partner to join the HR Business Partnering team supporting the Research Institutes under the Research Cluster i3 and i4 in the National University of Singapore, which currently comprises - Centre for Maritime Studies (CMS), Institute of Data Science (IDS), Institute of Operations Research & Analytics (IORA), Institute for Mathematical Sciences (IMS), Lloyd’s Register Foundation Institute for the Public Understanding of Risk (IPUR), Smart Systems Institute (SSI), Sustainable & Green Finance Institute (SGFIN) and Tropical Marine Science (TMSI), Asian Institute of Digital Finance (AIDF), Risk Management Institute (RMI), Institute of Real Estate & Urban Studies (IREUS), The Logistics Institute-Asia Pacific (TLI-AP), Singapore Synchrotron Light Source (SSLS), NUS Centre for Trusted Internet and Community (CTIC).
Duties and Responsibilities
Partner and support the research institutes’ heads / principal investigators / managers to manage, in a proactive and consultative approach, a full spectrum of HR functions which includes talent acquisition, staff retention, compensation, performance appraisals, as well as talent management and development
Partner the Centres of Excellence (COE) in reviewing, developing, implementing and administering the rewards and benefits programmes of the University
Contact point for employee relations issues, provide accurate assessment of situations and provide HR advice to business units
Make decisions within areas of responsibilities
Able to multitask and manage the workload during peak periods and plan for appropriate backup resources
Participate in process review projects and participate in improvement projects
Generate improvement ideas and translate them into plans and actions
Other ad-hoc tasks / projects as assigned
Qualifications
University degree, preferably with additional specialist qualification in Human Resource Management
Minimum of 1 - 2 years working experience in any relevant field of experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to relate well with people at all levels and good service orientation
Strong influencing and collaborating skills, with demonstrable ability to work across various HR teams and with staff at all levels
Competent in Microsoft Office tools, with strong numerical and analytical skills
Good command of written and spoken English language
Strong people management skills
Positive work attitude and a keen learner with a "can-do" mindset
Team player, and able to consider the interest of the team and the University
Meticulous, and able to work well under pressure and commitment to meeting tight deadlines
