If so, we are looking for a Transport Operations Manager to join us, on a full time, permanent basis, to be based Leicester.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

Take accountability and responsibility for your site, effectively managing your time to ensure a safe and efficient service

As a true people manager, you will focus on ensuring that your colleagues receive the right level of support, coaching and development

Manage the relationship between XPO and our customers, constantly communicating across various stakeholders

Ensure that all teams are aligned, operating to XPO standard policies and procedures

Support the Contract Manager with adherence to all compliance and legal obligations with a huge emphasis on safety, deputising in their absence

Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, with a keen eye on resource available at site and keep the customer updated

Working closely with the customer on a day-to-day basis, you’ll support with period reviews and customer presentation in the contract managers absence.

Provide leadership and guidance for your team to enable them to meet objectives, encouraging open communication

What you need to succeed at XPO:

Ideally, you’ll already be a Transport Manager or have Transport experience in a 3PL environment, looking for the next step

Great People Management and Leadership skills

Fantastic stakeholder management skills both internally and externally.

Commercially minded – understanding and managing the P&L for the site.

International CPC holder – essential

A track record of resolving complex issues and delivering results in a fast paced environment
