As we continue our journey toward becoming Ireland’s most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our Finance Team as a Finance Business Parter for the Marketplace.
Role Objective
To manage and provide business partner support to MarketPlace sites and Central Support in all areas of financial control and commercial growth. The Marketplace Finance Business Partner will provide high-quality commercial finance support to the Wholesale Business, acting as a key finance partner to Marketplace Sales Director, the General Manager of Marketplace sites and operational leaders within Musgrave.
What you'll be doing:
Finance Reporting
Lead and co-ordinate the timely distribution of all weekly reports with appropriate insight
Review and co-ordinate the periodic management accounts providing guidance to all finance colleagues engaged in the production of same, and ensure the quality of the accounts is to a high standard
Ensure all communication with the business is commercially focused with insightful analysis of trends and a focus on risk and opportunities
Lead and co-ordinate the quarter-end and year-end process for accruals/prepayments and reconciliation of all related accounts
Business Partner Support to MarketPlace and Central Support
Build relationships, communicate with and engage key stakeholders within the MarketPlace and Central Support teams
Provide a high level of insight and analysis on weekly and periodic performance
Provide commercial finance input into operational initiatives, cost management plans, business plans including Capex spend and branch performance reviews to achieve targets and drive PBT improvement
Budgeting & Forecasting
Responsible for the delivery of detailed plans, and engagement with the budget holders in building same
Provide challenge to forecast/budget targets to assist in driving continuous margin improvement
Support and play a key role in the use and on-going development of Anaplan planning tool
Presentation of budget/forecast information to key stakeholders
Contribute to longer-term business planning, including cost base reviews, productivity assumptions and operational efficiency initiative
Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Financial Control
Review monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the wider finance team.
Ensure reconciliations are complete, accurate, timely and supported by appropriate evidence.
Focus particularly on branch-related payroll and non-payroll accruals, prepayments, provisions and other branch cost balance sheet accounts.
Review reconciliations for ageing items, unreconciled balances, unusual movements and items requiring escalation.
Provide guidance and feedback to all finance colleagues where reconciliations lack sufficient explanation, support or ownership
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring outsourced processes are efficient, controlled and fit for purpose.
Support audit requests by providing clear explanations, reconciliations and backup documentation.

What we are looking for:
Be a qualified (ACCA/CIMA) accountant with +5 years’ experience in a similar finance position
Have proven ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage a varied workload
Have excellent communication and influencing skills
Possess a high level of attention to detail with a system focus
Have strong problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset
Be a self-starter, hard-working, committed with willingness to learn and develop new ways of working/processes
Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Co-Pilot
Experience in the Wholesale/Retail/Foodservice sector will be of distinct advantage
A working knowledge of Oracle or similar systems will be of distinct advantage
