We are seeking a Production Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Canberra.
About the role
Develop and maintain best in market relationships across assigned panel of Brokers.
Ensure business bound is aligned with divisional objectives as well as growth and profit portfolio balance
Identify profitable new business opportunities and the maximize conversion or strike rate of desired business
Maximize the retention of preferred accounts and work with Underwriters to ensure timely review of exception renewal business
Facilitate planned strategy meetings with Account Managers
Keep abreast of market conditions and trends and provide feedback to team members and act to capitalize on new business opportunities.
About you
Significant experience in an operational, commercial underwriting role in a complex, matrixed general insurance organization
Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge and elicit beneficial outcomes
Ability to plan and prioritize effectively, organize tasks and manage competing resources and demands
Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulatory and/or legislative compliance requirements that impact the organization
Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to optimize business value to customers by delivering high quality services and positive customer experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base
A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape
