This newly created, health service wide senior leadership position is responsible for the delivery, performance and sustainability of medical imaging services across a diverse and geographically dispersed health district. Reporting within a large and complex public health environment, the Director provides district‑wide strategic and operational leadership across all imaging modalities, including diagnostic radiology, CT, MRI, ultrasound, interventional radiology and nuclear medicine. The role ensures services are safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred and financially sustainable, while supporting the delivery of broader health priorities.

Working in close partnership with the Clinical Director Medical Imaging and Hospital General Managers, the Director is accountable for service performance, access, efficiency, workforce sustainability and financial stewardship across multiple sites. A key focus of the position will be the development and implementation of consistent operating models, policies and performance expectations, alongside the use of data and analytics to drive service improvement and inform decision‑making. The Director leads complex service planning to optimise access, flow and utilisation, ensuring responsiveness to increasing clinical demand and alignment with district clinical service plans.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished health service leader with experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams across complex environments. Demonstrate strong financial, operational and strategic capability, the appointee will bring an ability to lead system‑wide change, drive performance against key targets and deliver measurable improvements in quality and efficiency. Presenting as a collaborative leader, the incoming Director will build effective partnerships with clinical colleagues and executive stakeholders, fostering a high‑performance culture aligned with organisational values and committed to patient‑centred care.
