Join the Close Brothers Credit Risk Team where you will support the design, development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of credit risk models, primarily focused on IRB and stress testing, to deliver robust and innovative modelling solutions.

Working as part of the Credit Risk team our ideal team member will have previous experience in acting as a modelling subject-matter expert throughout the development lifecycle, working with stakeholders and providing business insight through modelling solutions with excellent numerical ability, programming skills and understanding of quantitative concepts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform regular model monitoring to assess performance, identify emerging issues and investigate key areas of concern.

Provide business insight through credit risk analytics.

Take ownership of individual model development and maintenance tasks; anticipate constraints and risks, and implement mitigating actions.

Demonstrate a proactive, solutions-focused approach to meeting stakeholder needs and overcoming delivery obstacles.

Build, cultivate and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, particularly Business Risk Directors and their teams.

Ensure all credit modelling activity (including documentation and implementation) meets Close Brothers’ policies, standards and best practice.

Where appropriate, ensure compliance with PRA requirements and other relevant regulations.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

A highly analytical approach to problem solving.

A proven ability to work effectively within a team and with minimal supervision, with excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex topics for different audiences.

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

Experience working in banking, ideally within a credit risk function.

Experience extracting, cleaning and manipulating data.

Experience with modelling tools (e.g. SAS, Python or R).
