About the role
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Model Risk Analyst to support the execution of our Model Risk Management program. You will play a key role in managing our model inventory, conducting model assessments, supporting validation activities, monitoring model performance, and helping coordinate our MRM governance processes.
This role is ideal for a quantitatively, minded professional with strong analytical and communication skills who wants to develop expertise in model risk management and advance their career in risk management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Model Inventory & Governance
Maintain the model inventory database; ensure accuracy and completeness
Support model identification and classification processes
Track model metadata (owner, validation status, risk rating, etc.)
Generate inventory reports and dashboards for management review
Model Assessment & Monitoring
Support model risk assessments and model performance monitoring
Analyze model outputs and performance metrics; identify trends or anomalies
Prepare summary reports on model performance for senior management
Assist with model remediation tracking and issue management
Validation Support
Coordinate with model developers and validators on validation activities
Organize validation deliverables and documentation
Conduct preliminary model reviews and assessments
Track validation timelines and resource allocation
Governance & Compliance
Monitor compliance with MRM policies across assigned business units
Prepare compliance reports and metrics
Assist with audit responses and regulatory documentation
Support Board reporting and executive briefings
Stakeholder Engagement & Support
Provide MRM guidance to model owners and business units
Answer questions about governance requirements and procedures
Assist with training delivery and documentation
Serve as a point of contact for MRM questions
Documentation & Process Improvement
Document MRM processes, procedures, and workflows
Identify process improvement opportunities
Maintain MRM procedure manuals and policy documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Projects & Ad Hoc Work
Support special projects (technology implementations, program enhancements)
Assist with regulatory responses and exam preparation
Conduct research on model risk topics, best practices, and regulatory guidance
Support team leadership with administrative and analytical tasks
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative field
3–7 years of experience in financial services, risk management, audit, or quantitative analysis
Strong analytical skills and comfort with data analysis, spreadsheets, and quantitative thinking
Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Understanding of banking and financial services (basic knowledge of credit risk, pricing, regulatory environment)
Familiarity with SQL or Python (or willingness to learn)
Team player mentality, collaborative approach to problem-solving
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in model risk management, model validation, or quantitative risk roles
Experience with model risk or governance platforms (Wdesk, Alteryx, ServiceNow, etc.)
Knowledge of model validation methodologies and regulatory expectations
Experience presenting to senior management or in client-facing roles
Familiarity with databases or data warehouse concepts
Python or R programming experience
Financial industry certifications (FRM, CFA, etc.)
Master's degree in Finance, Statistics, or related field
Experience with reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
Prior consulting or audit experience
