Position Details:

Job Title: Java Engineer

Client: Financial

Location: Columbus, OH or Wilmington, DE (Onsite – 5 Days/Week)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated engineer with strong backend expertise in Java. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable microservices, developing cloud-native applications on AWS, and working with relational databases in enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.

Develop and optimize applications leveraging Aurora PostgreSQL and relational database design principles.

Deploy, manage, and support cloud-native applications on AWS.

Utilize ECS and Terraform for container orchestration and infrastructure automation.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Participate in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization initiatives.

Contribute to system design discussions and architectural decisions.

Required Qualifications:

10 + years of professional software development experience.

Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.

Experience working with relational databases, preferably Aurora PostgreSQL.

Strong understanding of AWS cloud services.

Hands-on experience with ECS and Terraform.

Experience building and supporting distributed applications in production environments.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $120,000-$150,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
