Northrop Grumman Space Systems Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Software Engineer – Level 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB) in Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
The selected Software Engineer – Level 2 will be technical member of a small development and analysis team assigned to the Enterprise Sensor Lab. The candidate will be required to work with other systems and software engineers in a dynamic and demanding environment. The job requires a solid background in analysis, software development, and/or systems engineering. The candidate will interface directly with team members to analyze data generated and collected in ESL, operate ESL software and systems, and update ESL analysis tools and system software as required.
Essential Functions:
Execute and update ESL’s Matlab analysis tool suite to creates reports on system performance.
Analyze these system performance reports to identify trends, discrepancies, out of family behaviors, etc.
Identify and implement process automation
Prepare and brief reports on ESL system performance.
Operate ESL’s Intelligent Communications Router (ICR) to support the integration and message exchange between various software elements/applications.
Document bugs and enhancements.
Develop scripts to help with the analysis and diagnostics of system behavior.
Function as a flight-test operator as required
Ensure compliance with all applicable SwA and Cyber requirements
As requested, support design, status or technical interchange meetings
Perform other software related test activities as required
Create user and engineering documents to capture requirements, designs, and architecture
Research new technologies and evaluate products
Install and maintain Government and Commercial Off-The-Shelf products.
Analyze and implement requirements to enhance and modify ICR to support system updates and modifications.
Implement system requirements using C++, utilizing Qt for GUI development.

Basic Qualifications:
Please note your updated and current security clearance level and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume if applicable.
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 0-2 years of related experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility at the time of application, which is required to start.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers, management, and team members
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to look at system generated data to determine best ways to create effective reports on system performance
Ability to analyze software and implement improvements
Comfortable working in a dynamic and demanding work environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with DoD systems
Experience with MDA/BMDS/C4ISR
Proficient with the use of Linux Operating systems
Experience coding/debugging Matlab, C++, Python, and Qt applications
Proficient with MS Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
