Job Summary
Kenko Academy PteLtd is seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Accounts Executive to manage the company's daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. The successful candidate will support the Finance Department in ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Experience in the education, training, or service industry will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and payments accurately and promptly.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve payment discrepancies.
Prepare payment schedules and bank transfers.
Accounts Receivable
Issue invoices for course fees, grants, corporate clients, and other services.
Monitor customer payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate receivable records.
General Accounting
Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Maintain proper accounting documentation and filing systems.
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly management reports and financial schedules.
Assist in preparing annual budgets and cash flow forecasts.
Support external auditors during annual audits.
Assist with financial analysis and management reporting.
Payroll & HR Support
Assist in payroll preparation and verification.
Process CPF contributions, IR8A submissions, and other statutory payroll requirements.
Maintain payroll records confidentially.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), Companies Act, GST regulations, and IRAS requirements.
Assist with GST submissions and tax-related matters.
Maintain proper internal controls and financial procedures.
Administrative Support
Maintain accounting software and financial databases.
Liaise with banks, auditors, government agencies, and vendors.
Support finance-related projects and process improvement initiatives.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by management.
Job Requirements
Technical Skills & Systems
Proficient in Xero Accounting Software for bookkeeping, financial reporting, bank reconciliation, and accounts management.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel , including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data analysis, and financial reporting.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
Experience using accounting and payroll software is an advantage.
Industry Knowledge
Familiar with the accounting and financial administration of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) -funded training programmes.
Experience in managing accounting records for SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) payments and reconciliations.
Knowledge of Training Grants , grant claims, funding reconciliation, and revenue recognition for SSG-funded courses.
Familiar with the SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) scheme, including eligibility, grant utilization, and accounting treatment.
Understanding of government grant accounting, compliance requirements, and audit documentation related to SSG-funded programmes.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience , preferably in a Private Education Institution (PEI), training provider, or grant-funded environment.
Experience supporting external audits, grant audits, and financial reporting for government-funded projects will be an advantage.
Knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), GST, CPF, and IRAS statutory requirements.
