Key responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

Define and execute the sector strategy for Food & Consumer (F&C) in Germany, in line with ABN AMRO’s vision and growth ambitions.

Drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability across lending and fee based solutions.

Actively steer client selection, origination priorities, and balance sheet deployment.

Client Coverage & Origination

Hold strategic ownership of a portfolio of F&C clients, maintaining senior level relationships with CFOs, shareholders, founders, and family owners.

Originate new client relationships and complex transactions with a focus on medium sized and family owned businesses.

Lead strategic client dialogues, coordinating tailored solutions across Corporate and Investment Banking (e.g. lending, transaction banking, capital markets, and advisory).

Identify and introduce relevant opportunities to the Wealth Management organization.

Franchise Representation & Network Building

Represent the F&C franchise internally and externally, acting as a visible and credible ambassador of ABN AMRO.

Maintain and continuously a strong network of internal product partners and key external stakeholders (e.g. advisors, consultants, lawyers).

Stay at the forefront of sector developments, translating market insights into commercial opportunities for clients and the bank.

People, Risk & Governance

Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to bankers within the F&C sector.

Contribute to business planning and annual budgets, ensuring disciplined cost management and efficient use of resources.

Your profile

Master degree in finance, economics, or a related field.

Extensive senior experience (typically 12–15+ years) in Corporate and/or Investment Banking, preferably with strong exposure to Food & Consumer sectors.

Profound industry knowledge and a well established network with corporates and professional advisors.

Proven track record in originating business, leading senior client relationships, and driving commercial results.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire multidisciplinary teams.

Solid understanding of Corporate and Investment Banking products, risk adjusted returns, and balance sheet management.

Entrepreneurial mindset, strong commercial drive, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.

Strong personal alignment with ABN AMRO’s values, vision, and strategic ambitions.

Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
