Reports To: Residential Manager Mentor
Hours of Work: Full time- 40 hours per week. Work hours vary, and overtime may be required. Position requires work at various program sites on all shifts, with varying schedules.
Pay Range: $24.60-$29.60/HR
Job Summary: Responsible for monitoring and training newly hired Assistant Manager and Direct Support Professional (DSP) staff as they enter the residences. Support new Assistant Managers as they transition from the DSP role to Assistant Manager using hands-on practical application of agency policies and procedures. Provide site-specific training, along with OPWDD, Office of Fire Prevention & Control (OFPC) and other regulations. Help build relationships that are collaborative and person centered.
Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED is required, Associate's Degree is preferred.
Minimum 2 years prior experience working directly with program participants and 1-year supervisory experience is required.
Medication administration certification required.
Excellent training, coaching and communication skills are required.
Travel is required; employee must have reliable transportation available.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
Valid NYS Driver's license that meets agency standards and reliable transportation.
Major Responsibilities:
Directly train and ensure Assistant Managers understand and comprehend responsibilities pertaining to the operation of a site, including but compliance, quality, communication, Policy and Procedures and regulatory standards.
Train Assistant Managers in the use of agency computer systems (Therap, etc.).
Deliver site-specific training in areas of skills-based training and core competencies.
Ensure proper training is provided on personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency procedures.
Conduct training/coaching meetings and share professional development opportunities with Assistant Managers.
Help foster an environment that promotes employee engagement and job satisfaction.
Train/encourage Assistant Managers on agency modes of communication (eg, Outlook, Facebook, Yammer).
Maintain close communication with site manager as to progress of trainees.
Travel to all assigned sites within the County.
