We are currently seeking a Senior IT Support Engineer to join our team in Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa (JP-14), Japan (JP).

Job Summary

This is often a college graduate who has mastered the basic principles of the role and is able to handle more complex problems and projects.

Most problems they handle require standard solutions.

They may manage small projects with oversight from their supervisor.

Job Family Grade Description

Performs advanced trouble-shooting techniques to address complex technical issues.

Identifies risks and develops solutions for client tasks.

Serves as escalation and issue resolution point for onsite technicians.

Coordinates with on-site facilities and technical contacts regarding readiness and delivery issues.

May distribute workload among team members.

May prepare documentation to record and track issue resolutions.

Makes recommendations for process improvements within the department.

Often provides team leadership and mentoring.

Uses advanced tools /technical knowledge to remediate client problems and conduct scheduled installations.

Provides technical feedback on technical process issues to improve overall service delivery.

May act as team lead at times and coach team members.

Identifies potential issues that could adversely impact end user experience and take corrective action.

May assist with simple parts replacement and repair on desktops / notebooks/ printers.

Travel may be required.

May respond to calls after normal business hours per leader’s instructions.

Skills

Proficient in Windows-based operating environment, specifically in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.

Good knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems may be required.

Strong knowledge of Windows operating system environment.

Advanced client service skills.

A+ desktop or equivalent skillset is required;

MCP, MCSE, CNE or Network+ certification is preferred.

A+ desktop or equivalent skill set is required; additional certifications for various hardware platforms may be required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Ability to physically perform general office requirements. Movement of assets / Systems from one location to another.

Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

Significant travel including overnight domestic or international trips may be required.

Typically requires 4-6 years’ relevant experience.

Minimum Education and Certifications

Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
