Position Summary:
CVS Health is seeking a Senior Intelligent Automation Engineer to lead the design and delivery of scalable, AI-enabled automation solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise, strong engineering discipline, and strategic thinking to drive digital transformation and operational excellence across the organization.
You will play a critical role in advancing our automation capabilities by integrating modern AI technologies into enterprise workflows, enabling smarter decision-making, improved efficiency, and measurable business impact.
Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of intelligent automation initiatives, including discovery, design, development, deployment, and continuous optimization
Identify and prioritize high-value automation opportunities aligned with business goals and digital transformation strategies
Design and implement AI-powered automation solutions, integrating capabilities such as large language models (LLMs), natural language processing (NLP), document intelligence, and predictive analytics
Architect scalable, reusable frameworks using APIs, event-driven design, and cloud-native services.
Establish and maintain best practices, standards, and governance for automation development, including security, compliance, and operational reliability
Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Collaborate with cross-functional partners (engineering, SRE, product, and business teams) to deliver solutions with clear, measurable outcomes
Drive change management and adoption, ensuring automation solutions are effectively implemented and utilized
Monitor, measure, and continuously improve solutions to enhance performance, scalability, accuracy, and resilience
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in automation, software engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience with automation platforms (e.g., Power Automate, UiPath, Automation Anywhere) or custom development (Python, .NET, or similar)
3+ years of experience with API integration, system architecture, and cloud platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into automation workflows, including: LLM integration and prompt engineering, AI-driven document processing (OCR, classification, extraction), Intelligent decisioning and human-in-the-loop workflows
Demonstrated success delivering enterprise-scale automation solutions with measurable impact (efficiency gains, cost savings, quality improvements)
Experience defining and enforcing automation governance, standards, and security practices
Ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable, AI-enabled technical solutions
Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, OpenAI, or similar platforms
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation deployment models
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$101,970.00 - $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
