The Director of Language AI

The Director of Language AI is responsible for leading Lionbridge’s Language AI function across Enterprise and LSS customers. This role plays a critical part in shaping and executing Lionbridge’s evolution toward an AI-led Language Service Provider (LSP), driving strategy, innovation, service delivery excellence, and business growth across Language and AI services.

As Lionbridge’s senior Language and AI Subject Matter Expert, the Director of Language AI serves as the voice of Lionbridge across all Language and AI offerings. The role requires deep expertise in Language Services and Localization, advanced Large Language Model (LLM) prompting capabilities, and hands-on experience working with AI technologies and models.

This individual will lead the global Language AI team, partner closely with Product, Technology, Sales, and Operations stakeholders, and provide strategic guidance to customers and internal teams to drive adoption of innovative AI-enabled language solutions.

What You Will Do

Define and drive the Language AI strategy across Enterprise and LSS customers, supporting Lionbridge’s transformation into an AI-led LSP.

Lead and develop the global Language AI team, ensuring excellence in language quality, service delivery, and innovation.

Act as Lionbridge’s senior Language and AI Subject Matter Expert, representing the company internally and externally across Language Services, AI, and LLM-enabled solutions.

Drive the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI-enabled language services that deliver customer value and business impact.

Partner with Product, Technology, Sales, and Operations teams to shape solutions, support commercial growth, and influence strategic priorities.

Lead executive-level customer engagements, including strategic presentations, solution discussions, and thought leadership activities.

Own the Language AI and Language Quality vision across Enterprise and LSS programs, ensuring scalable, innovative, and customer-centric service delivery.

Monitor key business and operational metrics, driving continuous improvement, quality, and operational effectiveness.

To Be Successful You Will Have

Significant leadership experience within Language Services, Localization, AI-enabled content services, or a related field.

Deep expertise in Language Services and Localization, including quality frameworks, customer expectations, and delivery models.

Strong understanding of AI technologies, Large Language Models (LLMs), and their practical application within language services.

Demonstrated experience driving AI adoption, service innovation, or business transformation initiatives.

Proven experience leading global, geographically distributed teams within a matrix organization.

Strong executive presence with experience engaging senior customer stakeholders and delivering high-impact customer presentations.

Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

Strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and a strong customer-centric mindset.

Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, global, and evolving environment.
