Description of the Position
The Manufacturing Engineering team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented co-op student to support production and improvement initiatives within a dynamic manufacturing environment. In this role, you will assist in enhancing manufacturing efficiency, equipment reliability, and process performance through the application of engineering principles and data-driven problem solving.
You will work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to support process design, analyze production workflows, and contribute to maintenance strategies. This role provides hands-on exposure to manufacturing systems, continuous improvement practices, and technical problem solving in a structured, supportive environment.

Support process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality
Assist in analyzing manufacturing workflows to identify opportunities for optimization
Contribute to the design and documentation of manufacturing processes and procedures
Provide support for drafting and revising work instructions
Participate in capacity planning, line balancing, ergonomics assessments, and process layout improvements
Support implementation of manufacturing systems and technical solutions
Assist with development and maintenance of preventive maintenance programs
Compile and analyze production and maintenance data to support decision-making
Ensure adherence to operational, safety, and quality standards
Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams on improvement projects

What qualifications will make you successful?
This job might be for you if you:
Are pursuing a degree or diploma in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, or related engineering field
Have a basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
Are interested in process improvement, production optimization, and maintenance practices
Have strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Are comfortable working with data and technical documentation
Have good communication and collaboration skills
Are detail-oriented and able to follow structured processes and guidelines
Have experience with Microsoft Excel or other data analysis tools (preferred)
Have exposure to CAD, ERP systems, 3D printing or manufacturing software (an asset)
Are eager to learn and work in a team-oriented, hands-on environment

The base pay compensation for this full-time position is starting at CAD21.00 per hour for candidates who are B.C. residents. Schneider Electric also offers our employees on fixed-term employment holidays and paid time off.
