About the role
A&M’s CFO Services team, part of the Private Equity practice in Germany, is looking to hire talented professionals at the Senior Associate and Director level (m/f/d) with a strong background in Controlling and hands-on consulting experience. The team advises Private Equity investors and their portfolio companies on financial performance, reporting and transformation topics, working directly alongside management teams to create measurable impact.
The ideal candidates combine deep Controlling expertise with the structured problem-solving and client delivery skills developed in a consulting environment. They are comfortable working in fast-paced project settings, contributing analytically as well as communicating findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
How you will contribute
Support and lead CFO Services engagements in Private Equity portfolio companies, with a focus on Controlling, management reporting and financial performance management
Design and implement KPI frameworks, management dashboards and performance steering tools tailored to the client’s business model and investor reporting requirements
Conduct financial diagnostics to identify weaknesses in existing Controlling and reporting structures, and develop target operating models to address them
Contribute to working capital optimisation, liquidity management and cash forecasting workstreams as part of broader CFO Services engagements
Develop high-quality client deliverables including analytical models, management presentations and implementation roadmaps - at Director level, take responsibility for workstream leadership and junior team development
Qualifications
Proven experience of at least four years in Controlling, financial planning & analysis (FP&A) or management reporting, gained in a corporate environment; experience in Private Equity portfolio companies is a plus
Relevant consulting experience is a requirement
Strong analytical and modelling skills and the ability to structure complex financial information and translate it into clear, decision-ready outputs
Ability to work effectively in client-facing project environments, managing own workstreams and contributing to team deliverables under time pressure
Hands-on, non-hierarchical working style with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to collaborate across all levels of an organisation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English; ability to present findings clearly and confidently to senior management and investors.
Objective, fact-based approach to problem-solving
Strong values and integrity, leading by example and inspiring confidence in colleagues and clients
Master’s degree or MBA from an accredited university, preferably with a focus on Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
Fluent in German and English (written and spoken), other languages highly
