The Growth Company (GC) is looking for a Business Advisor - Creative Sector Specialist to join the Business Growth Hub (BGH) and deliver high quality, specialist business growth advice to ambitious leaders across the Digital, Creative and Technology (DCT) sectors.
The Business Growth Hub (BGH) supports businesses across Greater Manchester with expert advice on funding, innovation, people, sales and sustainability. We provide tailored support to meet the needs of each business at every stage of its growth journey.
In this role you will manage a portfolio of high potential businesses across Greater Manchester, identifying growth opportunities, diagnosing challenges, and developing practical action plans to unlock performance and scale.
You will also support clients from initial enquiry through to implementation, connecting them with the right expertise, services and networks to drive measurable growth in line with programme targets.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of up to 80 high potential DCT businesses, building strong and trusted relationships
Assess eligibility and growth potential, carrying out initial checks and detailed diagnostic reviews
Analyse business and market data to identify barriers to growth and develop tailored action plans
Provide expert advice to senior leadership teams, boards and stakeholders on complex business challenges
Introduce clients to relevant internal and external support and oversee delivery against agreed outcomes
Deliver bespoke, high impact interventions including workshops and multi disciplinary support
Record and manage all client activity through CRM systems, ensuring accurate and timely administration
Monitor and report on outcomes including job creation, GVA growth and service impact
About You
Degree level qualification or equivalent professional experience
Significant experience within the private sector, ideally at senior management or director level
Strong track record of supporting business growth and managing complex challenges
Experience of delivering business advice, diagnostics and development support
Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision making
Experience working collaboratively within professional teams
Strong understanding of the DCT sector and its ecosystem
Commercial awareness with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes
Skills Required
Strong sales and account management capability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confident presenting, facilitating and delivering workshops
Strong planning, organisation and project management skills
Ability to analyse data and translate insight into practical recommendations
Strong networking skills with the ability to build partnerships and generate referrals
Proficient in IT systems including CRM, spreadsheets and reporting tools
Understanding of project delivery, funding requirements and performance tracking
