Project Manager
About the role
WPS are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of planned maintenance and retrofit programmes across social housing stock in the Walsall area.
This is a diverse role overseeing a mix of works, including kitchen & bathroom refurbishments, roofing, solar PV installations, and Homes for Modern Living upgrades, alongside PAS 2035-compliant retrofit and decarbonisation programmes.
Working closely with housing association clients, you will be responsible for ensuring schemes are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining an excellent customer and resident experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end delivery of planned maintenance and retrofit projects
Oversee programmes including:
Kitchen & bathroom refurbishments
Roofing works
Solar PV installations
Homes for Modern Living upgrades
PAS 2035-compliant retrofit programmes
Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners
Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety, compliance, and quality standards
Monitor programme delivery, budgets, and performance against KPIs
Build and maintain strong relationships with housing association clients
Support pre-construction planning, programming and mobilisation
Ensure effective resident engagement and customer satisfaction
Manage risk, resolve issues proactively and drive continuous improvement

️ About You
Proven experience as a Project Manager within social housing
Strong background in planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes
Experience delivering multi-workstream projects (internal + external works)
Ideally experienced in retrofit / decarbonisation programmes and PAS 2035 frameworks
Exposure to renewables (e.g. solar PV) and energy efficiency works desirable
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple sites and teams
Highly organised with excellent commercial and programme management skills
Confident communicator, able to manage both clients and residents effectively

Strong understanding of H&S legislation and compliance (RAMS, CDM, etc.)
Experience working with housing association clients
