About the role

The Finance -Tax department is responsible for ensuring tax reporting and compliance requirements are complied with and provides advisory support for the implementation of functional and operational projects.

Income is seeking an experienced and self-driven Tax manager to join our Tax Team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring full compliance with tax regulations, managing tax risk and providing strategic tax advice. You’ll be reporting to the Tax Lead.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

Support and maintain effective systems and controls that meet Financial & Tax reporting compliance requirements and governance framework

Prepare / review income tax computations and returns for the group and subsidiaries, as well as ensuring that transfer pricing requirements are met

Review tax provision and transactions to be booked under the correct tax categories in the system

Provide guidance and operational support on withholding tax matters including liaising with tax agents to prepare / review withholding tax filing

Front tax audits and queries from relevant authorities and manage tax risk effectively

Identify opportunities to optimize tax positions within regulatory framework

Provides tax advice on projects to internal stakeholders to support decision-making

Proactively make suggestion to improve efficiency for tax compliance and risk management related processes through process improvements and automation initiatives

Provide ad-hoc support and participates in the implementation of functional and operational projects, business integration

Support GST compliance and quarterly reporting as a reviewer

Provide GST-related support on new product launches and enquiries from business units including any ad-hoc tax and related enquiries from customers

Keep abreast of latest tax developments and analyze impact of changes to tax laws to the business

Requirements:

Degree in Finance or Accounting with professional accounting or tax qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, ATT or CTA, SCTP or relevant equivalent

At least 7 years of progressive tax experience in a CPA firm, a professional services firm, a tax consulting practice and/or relevant working experience in insurance industry

Working knowledge of Southeast tax jurisdictions and setups

Detailed oriented, independent and analytical with good problem-solving skills.

Other competencies and traits:

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Experience with SAP, Power Automate and Alteryx have an added advantage
