Role Overview: Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a HR Generalist to join the HR team on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on role, working alongside the HR Manager to support key aspects of the day-to day employee lifecycle.
The Junior HR Generalist will support the delivery of a professional and efficient HR service across the business. Working closely with the HR Manager, the role provides exposure to the full employee lifecycle and offers an excellent opportunity to develop a career in Human Resources.
This position is ideal for a junior HR professional seeking broad HR experience and a structured pathway towards a more senior HR Generalist or HR Manager role in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & HR Support
Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and managers.
Provide accurate and timely advice in line with company policies and procedures.
Support disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance processes.
Assist with employee investigations and note-taking where required.
HR Administration
Maintain accurate employee records and HR information systems.
Prepare employment contracts, letters, and HR documentation.
Ensure compliance with GDPR and company record-retention requirements.
Payroll & Benefits
Assist with payroll administration and provide payroll-related information within agreed deadlines.
Support the administration of employee benefits and pension schemes.
Resolve routine payroll queries with employees and managers.
Training & Development
Coordinate training activities and maintain training records.
Monitor mandatory training compliance.
Support learning and development initiatives across the business.
HR Reporting
Produce regular HR reports and management information.
Monitor HR metrics such as absence, turnover, recruitment, and training compliance.
Assist with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Essential
Degree or equivalent qualification.
Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and use initiative.
Desirable
CIPD Level 3 or working towards a CIPD qualification.
Previous HR administration or HR support experience.
Experience using HR or payroll systems.
Knowledge of UK employment legislation.

Location: Purfleet or Ellesmere Port
Some travel may be required to other Depots throughout the UK.
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
