As a Director, Product Management, Surgical Digital Health - Patient Engagement & Clinical Decision Algorithms supporting Digital Health Solutions team you will be trusted to be responsible for defining and delivering digital products that enhance the patient and surgeon experience across the ophthalmic care journey. This role drives the vision, development, and commercialization of patient engagement SaaS solutions and AI-powered clinical decision support algorithms.
As a key leader within Alcon’s Digital function, this role combines product strategy, clinical insight, and advanced technologies (AI/ML, data analytics, cloud platforms) to improve patient engagement workflows, optimize clinical outcomes, and enable personalized patient care at scale. This will be out of our Fort Worth, TX office.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Product Strategy & Execution
Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for:
Patient Engagement platforms
AI Clinical Decision Support algorithms
Drive end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation through launch and continuous improvement
Ensure alignment with business priorities, clinical needs, and global market dynamics
Deliver scalable, modular, and reusable platform capabilities
AI & Clinical Innovation
Lead the development of AI-powered clinical decision support solutions that improve surgeon decision-making and patient outcomes
Partner with clinical SMEs to ensure safety, efficacy, and real-world usability
Integrate algorithms seamlessly into user workflows to maximize adoption
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Medical, and Commercial teams to deliver compliant, high-quality products
Collaborate across surgical franchise and vision care portfolios to ensure a cohesive digital ecosystem
Align global stakeholders on shared product vision and priorities
Product Development Excellence
Own and prioritize product backlog, ensuring clarity, value, and execution readiness
Define product requirements, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Ensure adherence to quality systems, regulatory requirements, and data privacy standards
Drive agile best practices across teams
Customer & Market Focus
Engage with surgeons, staff, clinicians, and patients to gather insights and validate solutions
Translate user needs into differentiated product experiences
Continuously improve products based on feedback and performance metrics
Team Leadership & Culture
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of product analysts
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and speed
Mentor talent and create a strong pipeline of future product leaders
Thought Leadership & Representation
Serve as a digital health thought leader internally and externally
Represent Alcon at customer engagements, partnerships, and industry events
Evangelize the value of digital health solutions across the organization
Impact

Up to 20% domestic and international travel
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Strong proven experience in SAAS product development, preferably within the medical industry
Understanding of the patient journey in ophthalmology
Experience integrating AI algorithms into customer-facing digital products
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs.; Assoc.+14 yrs.; M.S.+7 yrs.; PhD+6 yrs.)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
