Security Project Engineer/Asst. PM (Owner's Representative) - Data Center Construction
About the role
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
3–7+ years of experience supporting construction, low-voltage/security systems, or mission-critical projects
Experience with physical security systems such as CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and perimeter security infrastructure
Familiarity with data center, semiconductor, or other critical facility environments preferred
Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders including contractors, integrators, and design teams
Strong understanding of construction coordination, scheduling, and field execution workflows
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and low-voltage/security design packages
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project tracking tools
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support day-to-day field execution of security scopes across assigned buildings or campuses, ensuring alignment with project schedules and installation requirements
Assist with implementation and coordination of security systems including access control, surveillance (CCTV), and perimeter security
Act as a liaison between security consultants, system integrators, general contractors, low-voltage trades, and internal stakeholder teams
Coordinate communication and issue resolution across all parties involved in security scope delivery
Review design packages and provide input on constructability, scope completeness, and coordination requirements
Evaluate designs related to perimeter security systems, camera layouts, device placement, head-end equipment, and supporting infrastructure
Support RFI responses, submittal reviews, and design coordination efforts
Track progress of security scopes against the project schedule and identify potential risks or delays
Identify and help resolve scope gaps including power, pathways, device coverage, and IP/network integration requirements
Support sequencing and integration of security systems with other trades and construction activities
Assist in coordination of commissioning activities including functional testing of security devices and systems
Track deficiencies and punch list items to closure, ensuring systems meet operational and design requirements
Support final system turnover and handoff to corporate security or operations teams
Maintain project documentation including action logs, issue trackers, and commissioning reports
Support reporting efforts by providing regular updates on progress, risks, and outstanding issues
Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and ready for turnover to operations
