About the role
Overview
At Ford, you’ll work on ideas that matter, alongside passionate people who want to make a global impact. Together, we’re shaping the next era of transportation - grounded in purpose, driven by progress. Make your move.
Job Type: Full time
Work Type: Hybrid
We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.
Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is charged with delivering the company’s vision of a fully electric transportation future. EVDD is customer-obsessed, entrepreneurial, and data-driven and is dedicated to delivering industry-leading customer experience for electric vehicle buyers and owners. You’ll join an agile team of doers pioneering our EV future by working collaboratively, staying focused on only what matters, and delivering excellence day in and day out. Join us to make positive change by helping build a better world where every person is free to move and pursue their dreams.
What you'll do...
Validate the functionality and stability of platform, connectivity, and diagnostics features for infotainment software.
Perform deep-dive troubleshooting on test failures, utilizing system logs and tools to isolate the root cause before reporting.
Manage and maintain the test bench environment, ensuring software and hardware are correctly set up for testing.
You'll have...
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience creating test plans for code changes, including smoke test, targeted regression, and testing high-risk areas such as state changes, platform upgrades, and power cycles.
Ability to apply a white-box testing mindset, designing tests that leverage knowledge of internal components (services, APIs, middleware) rather than relying solely on “black box” validation.
Experience validating complex "system-of-systems" products, such as consumer electronics, mobile devices, or robotics; this background is highly relevant and not limited to automotive.
Capability to triage issues and write bug reports with analysis that developers can act on immediately, including reproduction steps, clear expected vs. actual behavior, and precise evidence like timestamps and key log excerpts.
Hands-on hardware/software integration experience, including bench bring-up, flashing, and end-to-end feature validation across HW/SW boundaries.
Working knowledge of Linux (CLI, logs/journalctl, networking, permissions, scripting) for debugging, automation, and test execution.
Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, including setup/configuration, signal simulation, test execution, and result analysis.
Python automation skills (strong plus): building test utilities, log parsing/triage scripts.
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
