We have immediate opportunities for a Microsoft SQL Server & Azure SQL Customer Engineer to help customers modernize, optimize, and transform their enterprise data platforms. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping organizations design highly available, secure, and high-performing SQL Server environments while driving modernization to Azure SQL services and cloud-based data platforms.

Act as a trusted advisor to customers on Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL technologies, guiding modernization strategies, database migrations, performance optimization, high availability, and cloud adoption

Lead technical workshops and solution envisioning sessions to help customers design scalable, secure, and resilient data platform architectures

Advise customers on modernizing SQL Server workloads, including upgrades, migration from on-premises and non-SQL Server platforms to Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure IaaS

Deliver architecture reviews, health assessments, and executive briefings focused on SQL Server performance, scalability, resiliency, and operational best practices

Guide customers on implementing enterprise-grade High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions utilizing Always On Availability Groups, Windows Failover Clustering, geo-replication, backup and recovery strategies, and Azure-native resiliency capabilities

Recommend best practices for SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, database design, capacity planning, and workload optimization

Advise customers on implementing secure database environments utilizing Azure AD Authentication, Managed Identity, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Always Encrypted, SQL Auditing, Microsoft Defender for SQL, and Advanced Threat Protection

Share reference architectures, modernization strategies, and industry best practices to enable customer self-sufficiency and long-term platform success

10–15+ years of experience in enterprise database administration, SQL Server architecture, cloud data platforms, or database modernization, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies

Recognized expert in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL technologies, with experience designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise database platforms across on-premises, Azure IaaS, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL

Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by providing deep technical expertise in SQL Server and Azure SQL, translating business, performance, security, and modernization requirements into scalable database platform architectures

Deliver high-impact technical workshops, conduct health check assessments and architecture reviews, serving as a trusted advisor on SQL Server performance, modernization, security, high availability, and database best practices

Lead strategic customer engagements, architecture reviews, technical workshops, and executive briefings to drive adoption of Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL technologies

Lead workshops, conduct assessments, and architectural reviews to identify performance gaps, recommend remediation strategies, and define future-state modernization roadmaps

Collaborate with product engineering, support, and account teams to resolve complex customer challenges and influence platform adoption and long-term customer success

Demonstrated ability to lead discussions with both technical and executive stakeholders, translating complex database architectures into business-focused outcomes

Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with experience influencing decisions across large enterprise organizations

Database Migration & Modernization: Migration from legacy and non-SQL Server platforms, SQL Server upgrades, Azure Database Migration, workload modernization, migration assessments, and cloud adoption strategies

High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Always On Availability Groups, Windows Failover Clustering, backup and recovery, geo-replication, disaster recovery planning, resiliency architecture, and business continuity

Performance Engineering: Query tuning, execution plan analysis, Query Store, intelligent insights, indexing optimization, storage management, workload analysis, database capacity planning, and performance troubleshooting

Security & Compliance: Azure AD Authentication, Managed Identity, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Always Encrypted, SQL Auditing, Microsoft Defender for SQL, Advanced Threat Protection, encryption, auditing, and secure database design

Database Administration: Replication, policy-based management, Extended Events, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), PowerShell automation, licensing, and operational best practices
