What’s the opportunity?

Ernest Henry Operations is entering an exciting phase, with mine life extended to 2040 and a strong focus on optimising recovery and long‑term value from a complex copper and gold operation.

This role places you at the centre of plant performance and ore treatment strategy. As a Senior -Metallurgist, you’ll combine hands‑on technical expertise with leadership, guiding a developing metallurgical team while driving day‑to‑day processing outcomes and continuous improvement. With an 8/6 FIFO roster, long‑life asset and strong technical exposure, this is an opportunity to make a real operational impact.

Based at our Ernest Henry Operations and reporting to the Superintendent – Metallurgy, you’ll:

Optimise copper and gold recovery through improved plant performance

Develop and implement weekly ore treatment plans

Monitor metallurgical performance, reconciliation and reporting

Provide technical troubleshooting to support production targets

Lead, mentor and develop plant metallurgists

Drive continuous improvement across recovery, safety and costs

Collaborate with processing, maintenance and technical services teams

Promote strong safety and environmental standards.

Does this sound like you?

A tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Process / Chemical Engineering or similar

5+ years’ experience in a mineral processing plant

Strong experience in flotation, crushing and grinding circuits

Base metals experience (copper preferred); gold exposure advantageous

Knowledge of metallurgical accounting and data analysis

Experience mentoring or supervising metallurgical teams

A collaborative mindset and commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
