The Role
What if your skills mattered more than your job title?
Talent Sourcers play a key role in our clients’ success by partnering with Hiring Managers and Recruiters and developing effective, consultative, professional relationships with them. Through asking the right questions to ensure a detailed understanding of the client and each role, and by leveraging data, historic hiring trends, and market analysis, Talent Sourcers develop bespoke sourcing strategies and then use a range of tools and techniques to find the best talent in the market.
A Principal Sourcing Specialist is a true subject matter expert in recruitment and sourcing and will confidently partner with senior stakeholders to understand even the most complex hiring needs, developing sourcing strategies which focus on finding and engaging passive talent across specialist disciplines
Key Accountabilities
What you’ll do:
Key Responsibilities and Activities
Strategic Talent Sourcing & Market Mapping
Own proactive sourcing as the core focus across all roles
Implement a multi-channel sourcing strategy, including:
Direct applicants (job boards, ATS)
Internal applicants (internal mobility)
Proactive sourcing (primary focus)
Conduct continuous market mapping for critical and niche skill sets
Develop role-specific and skill-based talent pipelines
Maintain warm candidate pools for faster turnaround
Perform regular pipeline reviews and refresh strategies
Leverage previous UK market experience to inform sourcing strategy and talent positioning
Passive Talent Engagement & Pipeline Excellence
Identify and engage high-quality passive candidates using advanced sourcing techniques
Build and maintain active and future-ready talent pipelines
Proactively introduce qualified candidates to Hiring Managers even before roles close
Use a true search methodology across platforms such as LinkedIn and other sourcing tools
Measure and refine sourcing strategies using data, MI, and performance insights
Stakeholder Management & Advisory
Act as a trusted adviser and thought partner to Hiring Managers and HR stakeholders
Own and drive Hiring Manager (HM) briefing calls:
Clarifying role requirements
Set sourcing expectations and timelines
Provide continuous updates on candidate quality, availability, and market insights
Ensure alignment across all recruiters supporting shared roles
Candidate Engagement & Experience
Deliver an exceptional candidate experience through strong communication and engagement
Position opportunities effectively to attract and convert passive talent
Conduct consultative candidate conversations to assess suitability and aspirations
Maintain regular communication throughout the recruitment lifecycle
Act as a brand ambassador for the client and AMS
Talent Pooling & Continuous Improvement
Build and nurture long-term talent communities
Maintain structured and high-quality talent pools
Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and tracking across systems
Regularly review pipeline health and improve conversion ratios
Use insights and feedback to continuously refine sourcing strategies
Team Collaboration & Mentorship
Support and mentor new joiners and junior team members
Share best practices in sourcing, engagement, and stakeholder management
Ensure a consistent sourcing and screening approach across recruiters
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for sourcing strategies and tools
Skills & Requirements
Essential (Must-Have) Skills & Experience
Proven experience in proactive sourcing
Strong expertise in engaging passive talent and building pipelines
Experience in the Oil & Gas or Energy sector
Strong ability to leverage professional networks for talent identification
Demonstrated experience in managing multiple roles and priorities
Strong stakeholder management and advisory skills
Proven candidate engagement and talent pooling capabilities
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience working with Phenom and Workday
