THE TEAM

You’ll join our Purchase to Pay team, working alongside AP Clerks, Team Supervisors, an AP Manager and Senior Finance Manager. This team is central to keeping our finance operations running smoothly, ensuring supplier payments are accurate and on time, and maintaining strong financial controls across the business.

It’s a collaborative, fast-moving environment where the team partners closely with stakeholders across easyJet, supports month end activities, and plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and finance transformation initiatives.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join our Accounts Payable team. In this role, you’ll support core financial accounting and reporting activities, helping to deliver accurate month end close, maintain robust balance sheet controls, and ensure effective financial governance.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, contributing to reporting, audit support, and process improvements that make a real impact.

Manage the end-to-end month end close process, including accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reclassifications

Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner

Produce and distribute month end reporting, including dashboards, PO non-compliance reporting, and quarterly reports

Compile and submit Payment Practice Reporting in line with regulatory requirements

Support employee expense processes, including query resolution and internal control testing

Deliver Purchase Order training to colleagues, driving compliance and financial governance

Assist with internal and external audits, providing supporting documentation and analysis

Process journals, including contra entries and ad hoc requests

Contribute to finance projects and transformation initiatives to improve efficiency and processes

Requirements of the Role

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Degree qualified or equivalent experience

Studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA is desirable

Strong understanding of month end processes and balance sheet reconciliations

Good analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial systems

Experience supporting audits and working within financial controls frameworks is desirable

A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

PRACTICALITIES

This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office
