Commercial Analyst - Balfour Beatty (@one Alliance)
Location: Peterborough (Hybrid working available)
Balfour Beatty play a key role as part of the {(6) Anglian Water's @one Alliance: Overview | LinkedIn} @Anglian Water’s one Alliance. The Alliance is a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and eight industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. And together, we deliver around 40% of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
As we progress through AMP8 – our most ambitious asset management period to date – we’re delivering nature-based and sustainable infrastructure, from wetlands to urban drainage schemes, setting new benchmarks for environmental performance.
We’re looking for a proactive and analytical Commercial Analyst to join the Central Commercial Team.
You’ll play a key role in supporting commercial performance across the business - enhancing processes, managing systems, and providing insight that drives decision-making.
What you'll be doing
What you’ll be doing:
Commercial Delivery & Systems
Support implementation of commercial processes and systems
Deliver training and ongoing support for adoption
Monitor performance and identify improvements
Administer key systems (FastDraft, DocuSign, Payment App)
Produce reports, turning data into clear insights
Commercial Assurance & Analysis
Identify and manage risks within commercial processes
Maintain commercial templates and reporting tools
Support contract management and tracking activities
Ensure compliance with commercial frameworks and best practice
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Build strong relationships across the Alliance
Communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels
Translate complex data into concise, actionable insights
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Drive efficiencies in systems and processes
Challenge existing ways of working
Support innovative approaches to improve performance
People & Culture
Support training and knowledge sharing
Provide guidance on commercial processes
Promote a collaborative and inclusive environment
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
Champion a strong safety culture
Ensure compliance with H&S policies and procedures
Who we're looking for
What we’re looking for
Qualifications & Experience
Educated to higher level in a relevant discipline
Experience in an analytical or commercial role
Knowledge of NEC contracts
Experience working within a commercial framework
Ability to challenge constructively and influence decisions
Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skills
Excellent communication skills
Strong stakeholder management skills
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to simplify complex data
