The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a BMS Project Engineer to join our Digital Energy team in Canberra. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for the engineering, delivery and commissioning of Building Management System (BMS) projects across multiple client sites.
Partnering with project managers, engineers, and key stakeholders, you will play a hands-on role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Support the delivery of BMS projects of varying size and complexity
Engineering design, documentation, and commissioning of BMS systems
Assist with project planning, including schedules, resource allocation, and cost tracking
Work closely with project managers to ensure scope, timelines, and deliverables are met
Commission BMS controls in conjunction with HVAC systems
Maintain strong communication with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors
Support site activities including testing, fault finding, and system optimisation
Ensure compliance with Schneider Electric standards and customer project processes (CPP)
About You
You are technically minded, solutions-focused, and enjoy working in dynamic project environments. You take pride in delivering high-quality outcomes and building strong stakeholder relationships.
You will also bring:
Tertiary or trade qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or related discipline
Experience with BMS/BAS/BMCS systems and HVAC integration
Exposure to project engineering, commissioning, and system design
Strong understanding of IT networks and building systems integration
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong organisational and time management capability
Electrical Licence (desirable but not essential)
Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
Ability to obtain a Defence Clearance (essential for Canberra projects)
