About the role
The Cost Accountant will establish, maintain, monitor and report accurate product costing and inventory data. Collect data and prepare reports for all manufacturing and operational activity. Compare budget to actual expenses and analyze variances. Assist in establishing and implementing new or modified cost accounting systems, methods and procedures. Provide cost accounting support to all areas of the company as needed with an emphasis on operations. Act as the liaison to external and internal auditors for all cost and inventory accounting requests.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform activities covering materials and production costs, costs of sales, product development, overhead, etc.
Compare actual costs to estimates, analyze and report on variances.
Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing budget costs to actual production costs; this includes product margin reporting and analytics. Assist in coordination of weekly cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts.
Assist with quarter and year-end financial closings and cost rolls.
Assist with and perform monthly reconciliation of inventory and related balance sheet accounts.
Ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
Act as liaison to operations personnel for cost accounting and product related reporting.
Other activities or requirements as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Bilingual in English and Spanish
3 years of experience of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

Possess outstanding analytical skills, strong communication skills (both oral and written), proven problem-solving capability, good understanding of GAAP with Sarbanes Oxley
Strong computer skills including MS Office products
Oracle experience
Hyperion experience
Experience with HFM
